There is always a strong tie between the canvas of artworks and art. Renowned artists Yves Klein and Ellsworth Kelly both chose canvas as the concept to create very avant-garde works, posing questions to the existence and value of materials / art.
ART HAUS’s fall-winter window display finds inspiration from traditional canvas but goes one step closer to explore its materials and possibilities. The production of canvas follows the traditional steps for the canvas for oil paintings but uses PVC and synthetic leather. Under the lights, the contrast between the materials created a big impact. The displays were hung and layered so the canvas became painting and also sculptural for different visual effects.
